It's more than a base M4, true, but I couldn't find a single M3 or M4 at the dealer last week for under $80k. Setting aside the $46k worth of Dinan parts, it's a $56k used M3, I took about 1/3 of the value of the mods and added it to the Blue Book value. Not totally unreasonable considering it was a $125k car 3 years ago. And of course there's wiggle room in the asking price as with any sale.

I guess that's true. At least they're all Dinan mods, which is a respected tuner, and that passport system isn't cheap.

Also, holy cow M3s have become expensive! $80k is 911 and F-type territory.

The panel is removable. But some people I've spoken to think it's really cool, other not. Either way it's not like it's on the actual main dash panel.

And I wouldn't scrub the exposed carbon fiber weave, fear that stuff splintering or fraying somehow if one was to put a lot of elbow grease into it.

Comparing a marked up M3/M4 with options to a 911's base price isn't exactly a fair comparison. I highly doubt any Porsche leaves the lot at anywhere near MSRP, especially considering how Porsche handles options.
